Mansfield lies about 12 miles north of Mapperley, with the A60 running right through it, and it is the second largest settlement in Nottinghamshire. A big town means a wide spread of homes, and Patch Me If You Can plasters across all of them.
From miners' terraces to Lindhurst
Coal was Mansfield's main industry for most of the 20th century, and rows of terraced houses built for mine workers still survive in and around the town. In solid-walled terraces like these, plaster that has cracked or come loose is cut back and patched, then the wall is skimmed back to a flat finish. About half a mile north of the centre, The Park conservation area is a late Victorian and Edwardian suburb of stone and red brick, many of its houses in the Arts and Crafts style, ranging from terraces to large detached homes. In houses of that quality it pays to repair carefully and keep original features.
At the other end of the scale are the new estates. The Lindhurst development is planned for 1,700 homes, High Oakham Park is another, and new houses have gone up at Pleasley Hill and on the old Mansfield Brewery site. Plasterboard-lined new builds are where stud walls, media walls and wall panelling come into their own, and where knocks and cracks in the board can be patched cleanly.
Whatever you need, from a single patch repair to plasterboarding a ceiling or skimming a whole house, all aspects of indoor plastering are covered. Call 07877 353120; we are open seven days, 7am to 5pm.
